10/9 Weekly Update

Hello Families!

This is our last week of grades of the first trimester. The final day for grades will be Friday.  The next two weeks will be fall break.  The Friday we return, November 3rd,will be the day report cards go home.   The following week will be student-led conferences. We are attaching the sign-up genius for those dates and times. You are able to sign up now.

Fall Conferences 17-18 www.signupgenius.com We look forward to seeing you at our Fall Student Led Conferences! If you do not have all questions answered during your student led conference and would like to meet with a 5th-grade teacher, please contact that teacher directly. We'll be scheduling traditional conferences during the day on Friday, November 10, from 8-3. Because of time constraints, traditional conferences may not include all of the 5th grade teachers. Fun Run prize coupons went home today.  Be sure and ask your kids about them. 

October is Mystery month.  This month we will be reading, talking, and writing about mysteries.  We will also be doing a Mystery Book Report. Their literacy teacher will assign and explain the project this week. The book report will be a cereal box book report. Ask your student to open up Schoology and tell you what they need to do. All book report projects are due Thursday, November 9th. 

There are still items needed for the fall party on Friday.  If you are able, please sign up to bring something.

5th Grade Fall Party www.signupgenius.com Hello Parents, This year's fall party is being coordinated across all four of the 5th grade classrooms. There will be two game/activity rooms, one craft room, and one snack room, and students will rotate between each room. Mrs. Shimeall's room will be home to one of the activities, and we'd love your help with some of the supplies needed! The party will be on Friday, October 13th, and we're requesting that donations for this activity are turned in by Wednesday, October 11th. This will ensure all supplies are accounted for, and allows for prep time to get the items ready. Thanks so much for your help!
