This year we are doing a lot of work around communication and conversation. Our term for this is discourse. Tonight please ask your child what they learned about fifth grade today. We are also asking the kids to get a 'password'/'secret word' from you. The secret word is LUNCH!
Each fifth grader will have a homework planner. The expectation is for the parent/guardian to initial the homework page each night. Our goal is to have your fifth grader ready for Middle School. It is their responsibility to write down assignments and have their homework completed. The initial is one added piece to help them be accountable and establish a new habit.
Next week is Back to School night. Thursday, August 22nd from 5:00 to 7:00. There will be two sessions and Mr. Muma will also be speaking in the gym. We look forward to seeing you again.
